Brothers Draddy: How a Family Became a Brand

Brothers Draddy: How a Family Became a Brand

B. stands for Brothers. The story of why brotherhood is written into everything the brand makes.

When B. Draddy launched in 2013, the B stood for Brothers. It still does, in the most obvious sense. But from the beginning it was always understood to mean something else as well: Brothers. Brothers Draddy. The bond that Billy Draddy has described, without hesitation, as the single most important influence on everything the brand makes and stands for.

THE FAMILY STORY

Billy Draddy is the third generation of Draddys working in the sportswear industry. His grandfather's three brothers stepped up as father figures to his father, and later to Billy and his own siblings — an act of selfless brotherhood that became part of the family's understanding of what the bond means and what it asks of the people who share it. His own brother has been, in Billy's words, a spine of support through the building of the brand. And his sons — Liam, among others — carry the name of the original polo, the name that started it all.

FROM ONE POLO TO A FULL COLLECTION

What began with the Liam — a single polo in organic Peruvian Pima cotton, named after Billy's son — has grown into a full collection of luxe, lived-in essentials. From the course to the clubhouse to the commute. Scottish cashmere sweaters and Italian linen shirts and French terry crewnecks and performance polos worn by Tour players at the Presidents Cup. The compass logo at the back hem of every garment is the brand's promise: made with the same care you'd give to something you were making for your brother.
