alpaca fiber is temperature regulating because bits fiber is medullated with hollow air pockets that hold heat in. alpaca is also moisture-wicking. It has one of the highest wicking properties of all natural fibers (its water retention rate is around 8%, compared to 16-20% of most other wool) Lastly alpaca is hypoallergenic, meaning it doesn't have that itchy grease (lanolin) that other wools have. we use royal alpaca - the top 1% selection of fiber (18-19 microns).
